Fulgencio Álvarez, who serves as the director of the Coclé University Center, conveyed profound gratitude for the mining company’s generous act, underscoring its significance in enhancing the Agroforestry Engineering program. This cultivation facility will function as an educational platform for students to gain expertise in a technology that has gained worldwide recognition, with a primary focus on producing food in limited spaces while upholding environmentally sustainable principles.

This generous donation will profoundly benefit around 100 students who are pursuing degrees in Agricultural Sciences and Forestry Engineering. It will provide them with valuable knowledge and practical skills in controlled environments, enabling them to control temperature, environmental factors, and humidity to establish a microclimate. As a result, this method facilitates continuous crop cultivation throughout the year, conserves water resources through automated irrigation, and reduces the dependence on harmful chemicals, ultimately leading to healthier yields of fruits and vegetables for the local community.
