Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) has announced that his office will be conducting an investigation into OpenAI and its chatbot. In a video statement released on Thursday, Uthmeier expressed concerns about the potential for OpenAI’s data and technologies to be used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He also raised concerns about the links between ChatGPT, the chatbot created by OpenAI, and criminal behavior, including child sexual abuse material.
OpenAI, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research institution co-founded by Elon Musk, has been in the news recently for its highly advanced chatbot, ChatGPT.
