If you walk on Avenue Jean-Médecin, you can’t miss it. Since this Tuesday morning, a huge poster in the colors of the Mediterranean has been displayed on the south facade of Nicetoile.

From July 15 to September 15, 2023, César Malfi, maestro of street art from Nice, will present the Blue Odyssey exhibition in this shopping center in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). Live painting with DJ, customization, masterful works, 12-meter kakemono… We tell you what awaits you.

Blue everywhere in Nicetoile

Nicetoile will soon only be dedicated to shopping. All summer long, tourists and locals alike will be able to discover the work of César Malfi as they stroll through the aisles of the shopping centre.

Initiated by Nathalie Daviet, director of the Antares agency in charge of the center’s events, Blue Oddysée is an extraordinary exhibition that will include new events.

Clearly, there will be blue everywhere in Nicetoile. And why blue? It is a color that inspires our artists. But which above all recalls the tones of the sea and its proximity to the capital of the Riviera. An important axis in the work carried out by César Malfi, influenced by ancient history.

Very early this Tuesday morning, the technician climbed into the basket to reach the gigantic poster now visible to thousands of passers-by. César Malfi will paint it until Saturday, every morning before the center opens and every evening after the center closes.

In concrete terms, Nicetoile will live the summer period to the rhythm of the exhibition. On August 2, a live painting will be organized on level -1 to present an unusual work.

An iconic object from Nice will also be at the heart of this artistic adventure: the blue chair. Invented by Charles Tordo in 1948, it will leave the Promenade des Anglais to show off in Nicetoile.

We also have this blue chair that goes all over the center. It will be scripted. That is to say, the blue chair in all its states, describes Nathalie Daviet. You will be able to find huge models such as very small blue chairs for babies, or even a high shoe imagined for a tennis player.

The Blue Oddysée exhibition will take place on different levels of the center, and in particular on the two elevators in the center. A way to make art accessible to everyone. The works will be arranged from Saturday.

But from this Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 5 p.m., César Malfi will start a live painting – the painting of the N logo live – on the South forecourt of Nicetoile. A DJ will accompany him in his performance.
