Attorney for Epstein Survivors Warns That Justice Is Impossible With Bondi as AG

The recent news of Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest and subsequent death has sent shockwaves throughout the world. The disgraced financier was accused of sexually abusing and trafficking underage girls for years, and his death has left many unanswered questions. But for the survivors of Epstein’s heinous crimes, the pain and trauma continue to linger. And now, they are facing yet another obstacle in their pursuit of justice – the Trump Justice Department.

Attorney Lisa Bloom, who represents nine of Epstein’s accusers, has come forward to voice her concerns about the Department of Justice’s handling of the case. In an interview with The Intercept, Bloom expressed her disappointment with the department’s decision to appoint former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as a special prosecutor in the case.

Bondi, who has a long-standing relationship with President Trump, has been accused of turning a blind eye to Epstein’s crimes during her time as Florida’s top prosecutor. In 2008, when Epstein was first investigated for sexually abusing underage girls, Bondi’s office failed to bring any charges against him. This leniency allowed Epstein to continue his predatory behavior for years, causing immeasurable harm to countless young girls.

Bloom believes that Bondi’s appointment as a special prosecutor is a clear conflict of interest and will only serve to protect the powerful at the expense of Epstein’s victims. In her words, “Justice is impossible with Bondi as AG.”

The decision to appoint Bondi has raised serious concerns about the integrity and impartiality of the Department of Justice. It sends a message that those in positions of power can escape accountability for their actions, while the victims are left to suffer in silence. This is a grave injustice and a betrayal of the survivors who have already endured so much pain and trauma.

Bloom’s concerns are not unfounded. Bondi’s close ties to President Trump and her history of protecting powerful individuals make her an unfit choice to lead the prosecution in this case. It is a blatant disregard for the victims’ rights and a clear indication that the Trump administration is more concerned with protecting their own than seeking justice for the survivors.

The survivors of Epstein’s abuse have already faced numerous challenges in their pursuit of justice. Many of them were silenced and intimidated by Epstein’s powerful connections, and now they are facing yet another roadblock in the form of Bondi’s appointment. This is a clear violation of their rights and a failure of the justice system to protect the most vulnerable in our society.

It is time for the Department of Justice to prioritize the survivors and their quest for justice. The victims deserve to have their voices heard and their abuser held accountable for his actions. The appointment of Bondi only serves to undermine the credibility of the case and further victimize the survivors.

As Bloom rightly points out, “Justice cannot be served if the person in charge of the case has a conflict of interest.” It is imperative that the Department of Justice reconsiders their decision and appoints a special prosecutor who is impartial and committed to seeking justice for the survivors.

The survivors of Epstein’s abuse have already been failed by the system once. It is our duty to ensure that they are not failed again. The Department of Justice must do the right thing and appoint a special prosecutor who will put the victims’ rights above all else. Only then can we truly say that justice has been served.
