Apple Raising Prices of Premium Services
Apple Inc. has recently announced that it is raising the prices of some of its premium services, including Apple TV+, Apple News+, and Apple Arcade, in the US, UK, and other international regions. However, there are no plans of a price increase in India as of now.
A monthly Apple TV+ subscription has gone up from $6.99 (about Rs. 582) to $9.99 (about Rs. 832), while not providing any new perks at this time. This means that Apple TV+ subscribers will now have to pay an additional $3 (about Rs. 250) per month to access the same content.
Apple News+ has also seen a price increase, with the monthly subscription going up from $9.99 (about Rs. 832) to $12.99 (about Rs. 1,077). Similarly, Apple Arcade has seen a price hike from $4.99 (about Rs. 416) to $7.99 (about Rs. 665).
The price increases come as Apple is looking to increase its revenue from its services segment, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade, and other services. Apple’s services segment has been growing steadily over the past few years and is now one of the company’s biggest sources of income.
Apple’s decision to raise the prices of its services has been met with mixed reactions from users. Some users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the price hikes, while others have welcomed the move.
Those who are unhappy with the price increases have argued that Apple should have provided additional features or content to justify the price hikes. Others have argued that Apple should have kept the prices the same, as the company already makes a lot of money from its services.
On the other hand, those who are in favor of the price hikes have argued that Apple is providing a high-quality service and that the price hikes are necessary to ensure that the company can continue to provide the same level of service. They have also argued that the price hikes are necessary to ensure that Apple can continue to invest in new features and content for its services.
Overall, Apple’s decision to raise the prices of its services has been met with mixed reactions from users. While some users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the price hikes, others have welcomed the move. Ultimately, it remains to be seen how the price hikes will affect Apple’s services segment in the long run.
